Sara Otley BA (Hons) ACMA CGMA
Chartered Management Accountant & Director
After graduating from University of Ulster with an Accountancy degree, Sara trained in industry while studying towards her professional qualification with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. After gaining experience with JP Corry, Isaac Agnew and Almac Pharamceuticals, Sara established SJO Business & Accounting Services in 2008 with a view to supporting SMEs and individuals. The business was then incorporated in 2015 and has continued to see significant growth since then.
A mum of two teenage girls, Sara has a love for music and enjoys spending time playing the piano and singing in the church choir. She can often be found walking Luna, the office pup, or heading off in her caravan when the weather is nice (sometimes even when the weather isn’t!!).
Jane Hill BAcc (Hons) FCA
After graduating from the University of Dundee with an Accountancy degree, Jane commenced a training contract back in Northern Ireland, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2005 with Chartered Accountants Ireland, becoming a fellow in 2016.
Jane has gained various experience having worked in several practices over the last 18 years, specialising in audit for many years.
Jane joined SJO Accountants in May 2019 and is engaged in all aspects of general practice, including accountancy, personal and corporate taxation, looking after all clients from sole traders to limited companies and charities.
In her spare time, Jane enjoys spending time with her busy young family and enjoys practicing yoga when she can.
Jill Dunlop BAcc (Hons)
An accountancy graduate of University of Dundee, Jill has had a varied career from training in a small accountancy practice, to joining a large accountancy practice as an Audit Senior before taking on a role within treasury in a pensions administration firm looking after investments.
Jill joined SJO in 2017 and is involved in all aspects of work within the practice including taxation, management reporting and accounts preparation.
Outside of work Jill enjoys spending time with her young daughter and family, walking and going to the gym. She also is a Guinness World Record medal holder for being part of the world’s largest tap dancing class.
Rachel Cunningham BSc
An Economics graduate of Queen’s University Belfast, Rachel trained with a large Private Equity Fund Administration firm in Belfast towards her ACCA qualification. Upon finishing her practical requirement experience towards ACCA she wanted to broaden her experience where she joined SJO in 2017 to continue completing her ACCA qualification.
Rachel is engaged in all aspects of general practice including accounts preparation, taxation, management reporting, payroll and providing clients with technical support on using Quickbooks Software.
In her spare time if she’s not in the gym you’ll find her chilling on the sofa gaming on her Playstation!
Payroll Administrator/Accounts Assistant
Jo-Anne Dunn is an Accounts Assistant within our team, responsible for the processing of client payrolls and bookkeeping duties. She has over 20 years’ experience in the field of accounts and payroll processing and has previously applied her talents to several Accountancy Firms in Scotland and England, as well as a previous role at The University of Dundee. Also, a former Payroll Supervisor with MITIE Facilities Management, she brings a wealth of business experience to our Team.
Jo-Anne strives to ensure a helpful and approachable service to our clients, providing a friendly ear to those clients in need of direct assistance. She lives locally with her family and can often be spotted out and about with her beloved Patterdale Terrier, Tess.
Jackie Brown BA(Hons) MSc
Jackie graduated with a Postgraduate Business Degree from Strathclyde University and subsequently ran her own business for over 20 years. Preparing her own books over the years inspired her to pursue an Accounting Technician qualification and is currently working to finish Level 5 ATI.
Jackie works on all areas of bookkeeping requirements of client. Her own experience means that she loves the whole process of the business and relishes the successes while understanding the challenges of the client.
In her spare time, Jackie loves to cook, always on the lookout for new interesting ingredients. Meals are often planned to allow suitable leftovers for her gorgeous Dog & Cat.
